Raw Licorice & Coconut Snack Balls


From time to time we need to implement both the Ying & Yang to find our balance, the masculine energy that strengthens our courage and the feminine energy to nurture our creative sensitivity.

I, therefore, felt inspired to create a black and white variation of a raw vegan snack treat that I have in my repertoire. These are so indulgent and easy to make, and I sometimes make a larger batch to save in the freezer to always have an afternoon snack handy when the little one is running on fumes after a long day at the kinder garden.

For all of you with crazy sugar-cravings, these are a lifesaver to have in the cupboards.

This recipe makes about 10 snack balls of each version

Vegan, Raw, Glutenfree, Sugarfree


Ingredients for the Raw Licorice Snack Balls:

  • 100 gram cashew nuts
  • 200 gram Medjool or deglet nour dates
  • 2-3 tbsp Raw cacao powder
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • A pinch of sea salt
  • 1 tbsp of maple syrup or coconut sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp Licorice powder (from Mill&Morter)


Ingredients for the Raw Coconut Snack Balls:

  • 100gram cashew nuts
  • 200gram Medjool or deglet nour dates
  • 2 tbsp desiccated coconut or 1 tbsp of creamy coconut butter
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or coconut sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp Coconut flour or ground desiccated coconut (to roll in)


  • Blend together cashew, cacao, dates, desiccated coconut, sweetener, coconut oil in your food processor.
  • Process until a sticky mass forms.
  • Roll the dough into bitesize balls
  • Set in the fridge.
  • After they have set and firmed up roll them in the ground coconut powder
